With practical solutions that are safe, innovative and sustainable, we think globally while acting locally. Are you looking for an opportunity to join a diverse group of professionals who are committed to remaining exceptional? We look forward to hearing from you.

Environment, People, and Place shape projects that are sustainable, resilient, and people-focused. We bring environmental intelligence and community-centered design to every stage, creating places that thrive socially, economically, and ecologically.

We are seeking an environmental leader who combines strong leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships. This individual will primarily lead key projects and be a client relationship builder, leveraging their professional network and Hatch’s strong industry reputation to expand our presence in the environmental consulting space while delivering high quality Environmental projects for our clients.

In this role, you will contribute significantly to the strategy, design, and execution of major environmental projects across our mining and metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors, ensuring sustainable and impactful outcomes. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients, senior leaders, sponsors, and stakeholders, while mentoring teams, coordinating resources, and driving project success from project identification and proposal development, through to leading the execution and project close-out. This role is responsible for all project deliverables, meeting all applicable quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recognized environmental professional with pre-existing consulting experience to take the next step in their career and contribute to the leadership and building of a top tier environmental services team. This demands a forward-thinking leader with deep industry expertise and a burning desire to drive growth and innovation while taking ownership of project responsibilities.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate across disciplines and global teams, leading subject matter experts and fostering innovation to position the firm as a leader in environmental innovation
  • Lead high-value contract negotiations and ensure client satisfaction through proactive engagement and service delivery
  • Build and maintain a strong client network, leveraging existing relationships to drive business development
  • Tailor global best practices to client-specific needs and regulatory contexts
  • Anticipate and resolve project challenges across fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse projects
  • Guide and mentor multidisciplinary teams, providing strategic, technical, and commercial leadership – often providing final reviews on project deliverables
  • Deliver measurable project outcomes (e.g., cost savings, schedule acceleration, risk mitigation)
  • Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery
  • Provide technical and peer review for client deliverables
  • Structure complex problems and guide teams in delivering impactful solutions
  • Recruit and develop the next generation of environmental leaders at Hatch

What you bring:

  • Successful experience leading environmental impact assessments in the metals/mining, infrastructure and/or energy sectors
  • Proven experience with permitting and regulatory compliance for capital projects, including experience delivering environmental services under an EPCM delivery model
  • Strong project management and people leadership capabilities, taking ownership of project outcomes, connecting with the broader business for execution support, and knowing when to ask for help
  • Skills at building consensus and leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to anticipate future project challenges and position client conversations to ensure both project success and the client’s desired outcomes are achieved while nurturing long-term relationships
  • Project commercial acumen to effectively track project budgets, earned value, and proactively take actions to mitigate project risks while providing value-driven solutions
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development
  • Flexibility to deliver on projects of other scopes within the Environment, People, and Plane team should workload require
  • Effective communicator with strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills
  • At least ten (10) years of directly relevant experience in environmental consulting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
