As the successful candidate, you will:
- Support the planning, design, and operation of tailings storage facilities and mine waste management systems.
- Assist with tailings deposition modelling, storage planning, and facility performance evaluations.
- Participate in geotechnical analyses including stability, seepage, deformation, and liquefaction assessments.
- Support geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and data interpretation.
- Assist with development of engineering drawings, technical reports, and design documentation.
- Contribute to dam safety reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Work within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver studies, designs, and construction support services.
- Develop technical skills in geotechnical engineering, tailings management, and mine waste facility design.
You bring to the role:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, mining, tailings management, civil engineering, or related fields.
- Previous experience in mining operations, construction, field investigations, or engineering design is considered an asset.
- Basic understanding of soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering principles, and earthworks design.
- Interest in tailings storage facilities, mine waste management, dam engineering, and geotechnical analysis.
- Familiarity with geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and interpretation of subsurface data is an asset.
- Knowledge of geotechnical software packages (e.g., GeoStudio, Slide2, PLAXIS, FLAC, OpenGround, or similar) is an asset.
- Familiarity with mine planning, tailings deposition modelling, or GIS software is considered an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated technical report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Willingness to travel to mine sites and participate in field investigations as required.
- Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in tailings engineering, geotechnical design, and dam safety practices.
Compensation:
Range: $82,000.00 - $83,000.00

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
