As part of our Shared Services group, comprised of Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal and Facilities, we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people, methodologies, and systems.
 

 

Overview

 

  • Responsible for supporting the organization’s tax compliance & reporting activities in accordance with Canadian federal and provincial tax legislation.
  • This role involves preparing tax filings, analyzing financial data, assisting with audits, and ensuring the company meets all regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation (or is in the final stages of completion) and has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of Canadian tax rules.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and file Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2), GST/HST returns, and other federal/provincial tax filings.
  • Support internal and external tax audits by preparing documentation
  • Monitor changes in Canadian tax legislation and assess impacts on the organization.
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions (if applicable).
  • Analyze financial statements and general ledger data to identify tax adjustments and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and ensure compliance with CRA requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and external advisors as needed.

 

Qualifications

 

  • CPA designation (or CPA candidate in final stages).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in Canadian tax (corporate tax, public practice, or industry).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Income Tax Act, GST/HST rules, and provincial tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in Excel and and other tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non‑tax stakeholders.

 

 

Base salary range: $71,000 - $121,000

 

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

 

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
