The Risk Management Coordinator works in Hatch’s Montreal offices, collaborates with the Regional Risk Manager for Eastern North America, and interacts with the region’s project development and execution teams. We’re looking for someone who will be able to develop the necessary skills to support project risk management activities, technical risk assessment, and quantitative risk assessment.

Tasks include reviewing risks with the respective project teams, identifying new risks, and guiding teams in developing appropriate mitigation measures. They also include updating risk logs and processing data to communicate the risk management activity status for project progress reports. The selected candidate will also be asked to raise awareness and train other Hatch team members on risk management concepts as required to enhance project management and execution practices.


The global team responsible for risk management activities consists of professionals with extensive experience in project management, project control, and decision-making support. This is an excellent opportunity to join this global team of professionals.


  • Review risk status with project teams.
  • Conduct risk identification workshops.
  • Help teams prioritize their risk management activities and identify appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Update risk logs and communicate information to the project teams.
  • Promote best practices in risk management.
  • Develop presentations to communicate the methods and processes proposed for specific risk management workshops.
  • Develop simulation models for quantitative risk assessment.


Qualifications and experience

  • Engineering training with 4–8 years of relevant experience
  • Work experience in industrial process projects (mining and metals, agri-food, chemical, etc.)
  • Experience on EPC/EPCM project teams active on site or in the plant, an important asset
  • Experience in risk management or participation in HAZOP reviews, an asset
  • Perfect bilingualism (French and English)
  • Excellent technical writing skills (French and English)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Diplomacy, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues at all levels of the company
  • High level of personal motivation and ability to consult with other members of the engineering team in a proactive, productive, and collaborative manner
  • Availability for short business trips on occasion
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
