We are seeking a senior level Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality civil and structural design outcomes across a portfolio of infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on transportation infrastructure delivery in the rail space. This role is suited to a capable and motivated engineer who enjoys working in multidisciplinary project environments and contributing to technically complex projects. The engineer will be responsible for tendering projects, undertaking engineering design, reviewing work and managing projects. The role will support the rail team from early concept development through to detailed design and execution. While the core focus will be in the rail space scope exists for other transport infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural and civil design for infrastructure projects.
• Oversee the development of project models in accordance with project and company BIM standards.
• Coordinate structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural inputs.
• Provide designers with sketches, and markups to assist with design documentation development.
• Compile calculation packages and undertake project reporting.
• Assist with proposal development and bid submission.
• Liaise with clients to ensure deliverables achieve the requirements and timing expectations are met.
• Undertake site inspections as required to verify site conditions to support accurate design documentation.
• Ensure documentation complies with relevant standards, codes, client specifications, and quality procedures.
• Support project delivery to meet programme, quality, and budget objectives.
• Undertake drawing checks and design reviews.

About You

You will hold civil / structural engineering degree and have 10 years of experience delivering civil and structural design. You have demonstrated experience with transport infrastructure design and delivery and have been in client-facing roles. You are confident working across disciplines, understand industry standards and regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills, safety awareness, and the ability to communicate effectively in English are essential.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience as a design engineer on infrastructure projects (e.g. bridges, culverts, retaining structures, stations, civil structures etc.).
• An interest in rail systems.
• Demonstrated experience with structural analysis packages such as Strand7 / Space Gass, RAPT, MIDAS Civil, Structural Bridge Design etc.
• A strong understanding of standards, codes of practice and design guidelines.
• An ability to interpret civil modelling to ensure successful structural / civil interface.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality outputs.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work independently.
• An interest in project / design management and a willingness to oversee engagements both on both the technically and management sides.
