Earth Sciences and Engineering specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.

Hatch is seeking a Hydrotechnical Engineering Student for an internship starting September 2024. Reporting to Earth Sciences & Engineering group, you will support offices globally working from our Niagara Falls, ON office location. The Niagara Falls team is dedicated to the development and maintenance of Energy, Mining and Infrastructure projects with a major focus on dams and waterpower.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Assisting experienced engineers with technical analyses and designs related to Civil Engineering Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Water Resources Management and Planning.
  • Data analysis and calculations and computer simulations using spreadsheets or discipline specific software packages. 
  • Field excursions may also be required.

 

You bring to the role:

  • Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program at the University level and has successfully completed the second year of the program (as a minimum).
  • Demonstrated course work in Hydrotechnical Engineering.
  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of programs such as AutoCAD, Microsoft® desktop software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Knowledge or experience in GIS applications and data management will be considered an asset.
