Hatch is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to join our Civil group within the Project Delivery Group (PDG), based anywhere in Australia.
Our Civil group delivers integrated geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development services across the full project lifecycle — from concept through to operation. We combine traditional engineering expertise with innovative technologies to deliver tailored, cost‑effective solutions for the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Civil Engineering group, driving performance, capability, and strategic direction.
- Provide technical leadership and governance across:
- Earthworks and site development
- Road and access design
- Stormwater and surface water management
- Building site works
- Water and sewer reticulation
- Represent Hatch in a client‑facing capacity, building strong relationships and demonstrating our values and technical excellence.
- Support the Civil Manager with staff development, mentoring, and performance management.
- Coordinate civil engineering resources across multi‑disciplinary project teams and the broader Australasian region.
- Contribute to project delivery, technical reviews, and long‑term discipline planning.
You will bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or civil engineering management role.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality in design and delivery.
- Proven technical capability in:
- Bulk earthworks and site grading
- Surface water and stormwater management
- Access and haul roads
- Earth and tailings structures
- Public road development
- Experience in the mining and/or industrial sectors (highly regarded).
- Exposure to power transmission or power‑related infrastructure (advantageous).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Eligibility
Applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, hold Australian permanent residency, or possess a valid visa with work rights in Australia.
