Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Commercial Manager to join our team in  Australia as part of the Hatch Commercial, Contracts and Corporate Legal Services (CCL) group.  In this role, you will interface extensively with the CCL Australasia and Global team members, providing strong commercial support to our senior leadership team.  You will work collaboratively with sector and business unit leads and proposal managers to help them in pursuing business development opportunities and developing commercial proposals that adhere to commercial and contractual requirements. As the successful candidate, you will: 

• Review commercial arrangements and terms contained in proposals and contracts. 
• Prepare commercial sections of proposals in accordance with the business requirements and CCL methodologies.
• Negotiate contractual and commercial terms with the clients, JV partners, subconsultants and other parties – both self-lead or with other CCL team members 
• Create and maintain client commercial and peer relationships.
• Review professional services agreements, EPCM, design-supply and other prime contracts as well as Joint Venture, teaming, sub-consultancy, non-disclosure and other agreements in collaboration with  CCL’s Contracts practice.
• Provide commercial support for the Australia-Asia region’s leadership across all of our sectors, Metals, Energy and Infrastructure.  Including the preparation and presentation of commercial and contractual documentation for Global and Sector Pursuit Reviews, contributing to the corporate governance on commercial and contractual matters.
• Support Client Engagement efforts of the business teams, involvement in client engagements at the appropriate level, developing client relationships and engaging with client commercial and legal teams as required.

You bring to the role: 

Relevant qualifications in Business and/ or Law combined with solid experience ( circa 15 years) in a commercial or contractual role, preferably in the provision of services to the mining, metals, energy or infrastructure sectors.  You have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, strong business acumen and leadership potential. You also possess extensive negotiations experience (sales side) with the ability to reach strong commercial outcomes.  You are a dynamic team player, able to the successfully collaborate at all levels of the organization.
