Hatch is currently seeking applications from Engineering / Study Managers experienced in cross functional leadership roles in a project/operations environment within the Iron Ore sector. You will be joining our friendly and supportive team in Perth. You will be responsible for building Hatch’s WA Iron Ore business and building a network and relationships within target clients.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative engineering team providing engineering services and field support. The role will require management, coordination and administering projects from feasibility through to detailed design and execution.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Display and actively promote behavior aligned to Hatch’s goal of achieving zero harm and an empowered safety culture
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders in client firms in relation to major projects and sustaining capital programs
  • Manage proposal development and win strategies to secure mandates.
  • Build a portfolio of ongoing projects across the target client base.
  • Develops and resources an appropriate organization structure, and ensures that the entire project team has the required resources for the work.
  • Provides leadership to the project and creates a highly committed and aligned team environment with all who can influence the project’s outcomes.
  • Develops detailed scope, cost and schedule control baseline, and manages any project changes in terms of this agreed control baseline.
  • Conducts regular project progress and client meetings to review the progress and issues in all disciplines of the project.

Qualifications, skills and experience we are seeking:

  • University degree in engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Coordination, organization and planning of community and industrial relations awareness.
  • Experience in managing multi discipline projects.
  • Experience in leadership, management and administrative processes.
  • Experience in engineering, procurement and construction, and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies. Broad knowledge of industry standards.
  • Proven background of resourcefulness under pressure.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Judgment problem solving.
  • Strong leadership skills/proven leadership skills and abilities.
