Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is seeking a Control and Automation Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Perth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects including some of the most interesting projects under way in emerging markets within the mining and metals sector.

As the successful candidate, you will:

 

  • Assist clients develop an understanding of their user requirements.
  • Prepare key project documentation including specifications, functional descriptions.
  • Develop verification and validation plans and implement testing of systems.
  • System configuration & coding including control functionality and HMI.
  • Undertake detailed design of control and automation systems designed to operate in heavy industry.
  • Routinely review, assess and plan for hazards, managing risk at every phase in the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance to our clients and third parties with integrity and confidence.
  • Work independently and safely to achieve project objectives and milestones.


You will bring to the role:

 

  • A degree in electrical, electronic and/or software engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered professional engineer (CPEng or equivalent) or demonstrated willingness to work towards obtaining professional accreditation.
  • Certified Functional Safety engineer, experienced in the implementation of the design and implementation phases of the safety lifecycle process.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory framework in Western Australia.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in working across a range off control system platforms and architectures.
  • Recent exposure to alarm management practices and experience in developing high performance HMI.
  • Working knowledge pertaining to the design and configuration of instrumentation, actuator positioners, drives and other equipment commonly found in the mineral processing and heavy industry environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a proven ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with engineering and operations personnel.
