Hatch is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team. As part of a globally connected team, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and complex projects across the metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical leadership and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to commissioning. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence with leadership. You will take ownership of electrical engineering deliverables, guide project teams, mentor engineers, and help deliver safe, practical, and high-quality solutions for our clients.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the electrical engineering scope across studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.
  • Prepare and review electrical engineering designs, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and discipline expertise within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support the development of capital cost estimates, engineering schedules, and project plans.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards, regulations, and Hatch procedures.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and project handover activities.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Apply robust QA/QC processes to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality engineering outcomes.

 

About You

You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have significant experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within consulting, engineering, mining, energy, or infrastructure environments. You have experience leading project teams and managing electrical engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle. Ideally, your experience will be commensurate with CPEng status, and you possess a strong understanding of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices. You are a collaborative communicator who can build effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders, and you demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
