We are currently seeking a highly motivated Risk Principal to join our team in Perth.

 

As a key member of our organization, you will lead the development and implementation of project risk strategies that ensure robust governance and compliance across all business operations and Client engagements. This is an exciting opportunity to influence decision-making  for some of our client’s toughest challenges and drive a strong risk culture throughout the organisation.

 

The Risk Principal will provide expert guidance on technical and quantitative risk analysis.  You will also drive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, partnering with our project managers and stakeholders to embed risk management into strategic and operational processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project risk management frameworks and policies.
  • Develop effective relationships with clients, Engagement Managers, Business Directors and engagement teams
  • Develops engagement risk management plans, facilitates technical risk workshops and hazard studies (i.e. HAZOPs); maintains risk register; periodically re-evaluate risks for their continued relevance, true priority, anticipated effectiveness of the proposed risk treatment plans and validity of documented trigger event;
  • Facilitates the development of contingency assessment for both CAPEX and schedule throughout the various phases of project;
  • Communicate and train engagement and business unit team members in risk management processes and procedures;
  • Participate in project set-up and project closure reviews, project gate reviews, project management reviews, quality audits, risk management independent reviews and recommend actions for improvement;
  • Assist the Global Director, Risk Management with the development of risk management procedures and functional guides;
  • Tracks metrics to demonstrate a cultural acceptance of risk management throughout the region;
  • Contributes to fostering a knowledge sharing culture by actively participating in the risk knowledge networks and collaborative forums.

 

 

You bring to the role

You’re a seasoned risk professional with a strong academic foundation, holding tertiary qualifications in risk, finance, engineering, or a related discipline. Ideally, you also bring a recognised risk or project management designation such as CRM, PMI-PRM  or CMP.   With over eight years of experience navigating complex organizational environments, you have a deep understanding of international risk standards like ISO 31000, ISO 31010, and IEC 62198 . Good understanding of and experience with project management, cost estimating and project scheduling principles, tools and techniques, and advanced understanding of the AACE guidelines eg (42R-08). Your ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels sets you apart, and you excel at producing high-quality reports and presentations that drive informed decision-making.
