Join our dynamic Perth team as a Senior Cost Controller, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial success across major projects. In this position, you’ll take ownership of developing, maintaining, and reporting accurate cost data, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget. You’ll be a key partner in upholding governance standards and delivering robust financial control in line with client expectation and making a real impact on project performance and outcomes. 

The Senior Cost Controller should be able to develop and execute the Cost Management Plan and provide the Project Manager with accurate and up to date cost information to facilitate sound project decision making.In conjunction with the Project Controls Manager and Project Manager, oversee variations and revisions to existing budgets, changes to scope and contract variation quotations, analysis of cost trends and cost forecasting. The Senior Cost Controller will coordinate the overall Cost Management discipline and will manage and mentor a team of Cost Controllers allocated to the project on a day-to-day basis.

About You: Essential

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant discipline. Alternatively appropriate project related experience
• Strong analytical skills
• 2 to 4 years relevant experience in a Lead position and a minimum of 10+ years’ experience as a Cost Controller in a multidiscipline project environment
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting final costs, cash flows and estimating processes
• Good knowledge of procurement, contracts, quantity surveying, planning, scheduling, and engineering processes and procedures
• Be fully versed with project management and cost control principles, policies and procedures and financial systems
• Strong computer literacy (MS Office package)

Preferred

• Sound technical knowledge in a multi-discipline environment
• Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience in various cost control software
• Flexibility to travel to spend time at site or other project offices
