The Structural Group is a Hatch global practice providing Structural engineering design expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction and project management.

Our Perth office is currently seeking a Structural Lead to join the team to assist with current project requirements. The successful candidate will have experience in the resources and infrastructure sector with a strong technical background. You will be required to provide management skills to expand the structural team capability and support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. You will be provided with an opportunity to motivate and mentor team members and secure key roles on a variety of different Projects for well-known, reputable Clients.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

• Conduct business development activities
• Manage the structural team in Perth office
• Provide Structural engineering analysis and design 
• Plan engineering activities using Engineering Work Packages
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work
• Prepare Material Take Offs/Bill of Quantities
• Review and check engineering drawings
• Provide input to engineering, operating and cost estimates
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews

 
Key required qualifications and experience:

• A degree in Civil engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
• Demonstrated design experience including heavy industrial and material handling facilities
• Experience with Structural design software such as SpaceGass, Strand7 and StaadPro
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to Structural engineering ) including Australian codes and standards
• 10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Prior experience within the industrial and mining sectors would be highly regarded
• Applicants with CPEng will be well regarded
