We look forward to hearing from you.

If it isn't grown, it's mined. Our mining and metals teams help our clients to safely and sustainably mine the minerals and metals used in our everyday lives. Want to play a part of innovating and optimizing the mining life cycle on greenfield and brownfield facilities? Apply today!

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Study Managers to join our Perth team.  This opportunity is ideal for senior professionals with 15+ years’ experience in mining and metals, energy, or infrastructure, and a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering robust technical studies, including feasibility studies, across process and/or non-process infrastructure.

As a Study Manager at Hatch, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to shape, plan, and deliver high-quality studies that support our clients’ strategic investment decisions. You will combine technical credibility, commercial discipline, and strong facilitation skills to guide study outcomes from early option identification through to well-supported recommendations.  You will be expected to work confidently across complex project environments, bring structured thinking to ambiguity, and ensure that studies are practical, defensible, and aligned with client objectives.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Develop strong study methodologies that are fit-for-purpose, structured, and aligned to the client’s decision-making needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, executive summaries, and high-quality presentations that communicate complex technical and commercial issues clearly and effectively.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining focus on study objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead rapid option development and screening, including short, focused sprints to identify and eliminate non-viable options early, and to rapidly determine the most promising pathways through practical multi-criteria assessments.
  • Facilitate effective engagement with internal teams, clients, external stakeholders, and vendors to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Challenge the status quo, bringing lessons learned, best practice, and market insight from previous experience to improve outcomes.
  • Act like an owner - demonstrating accountability, sound judgement, initiative, and a strong commitment to delivering value. “Acting like owners” is one of Hatch’s stated values, alongside innovation, integrity, cost-effective delivery, and long-term relationships.

Preferred Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience leading or coordinating technical studies in mining, minerals processing, energy, transport, ports, bulk materials handling, utilities, or broader infrastructure.
  • A strong understanding of study phases, governance, risk management, and decision support requirements.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and advisory teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, deliverables, interfaces, and client expectations.
  • The ability to synthesize technical, operational, commercial, and strategic inputs into clear study outcomes and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation capability across both technical and executive audiences.

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia. Hatch maintains an office in Perth at Level 1, 197 St George’s Terrace.
