Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Graduate Project Controller to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Pittsburgh.

Summary
The Graduate Project Controller is responsible for the overall delivery of Project Controls; including Cost Management, Planning and Scheduling, EPCM Control, Project Accounting, Trend and Change Management, Progress Measurement and Evaluation and Project Reporting. The Project Controller assures Hatch procedures and best practices are applied to the project, as appropriate, and recommends changes where required.

This role requires office presence as well as site presence within Pittsburgh to support water projects.

 

As a successful candidate, you will:
Safety

  • Have a strong personal commitment to Health and Safety
  • Look out for colleagues and intervene to stop any unsafe behavior as and when it occurs, and thereafter reporting the safety incident so that corrective action may be obtained
  • Participate in the safety interaction program

 

Project Controls

  • Gather and update site information into GIS systems
  • Manage contractors payment applications
  • Set up and maintain the project timesheet system including the establishment of Time Charge codes and associated WBS structures and budgets
  • Set up and maintain performance measurement system including the establishment of baseline estimates (hours and costs), work hour and progress curves
  • Collect and collate progress information, actual workhours
  • Generate, check and distribute project reports including liaising with responsible managers to resolve any issues relating to the quality of the reports. Potential issues include the accuracy of actual workhours and progress data and the quality of the current estimate at completion.
  • Maintain all staffing plans for the EPCM team
  • Maintain, in consultation with the relevant department and discipline leads, the forecast hours to go and/or estimate at completion based on performance to date and the project staffing plans.
  • Manage change registers, development of change notices from identification to approval
  • Ensures that the EPCM services budget and forecast are aligned with the project change and trend registers and provide input to these registers as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain engineering schedules at the work package level
  • Maintain key dates of the engagements in the performance measurement system as per the engagement schedule

 

 

 

 

You bring to the role:
Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in business administration, engineering, construction management or relevant discipline or appropriate project related experience
  • Attention to details
  • Interpersonal and good communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy (MS Office package)
  • Ability to learn systems (SAP, ERPs, Arc GIS)
  • Able to travel to construction sites in the city of Pittsburgh

 

Preferred

  • Time management
  • Planning and organizing
  • Hands on knowledge of planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Knowledge of Earned value concepts
  • Knowledge of cost management concepts (budgeting, forecasting, cost flows, change management and estimating)
  • Verbal and written communications including report writing and presentation
