Senior Accountant – Saudi Arabia
Hatch, in partnership with Ma’aden, is delivering major mining and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a senior accountant to support project and corporate accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial management across operations in the Kingdom.
The role is responsible for managing accounting processes, financial reconciliations, budgeting support, and month-end reporting, while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and local financial standards. The Senior Accountant will work closely with project teams and business stakeholders to provide financial insights, maintain strong internal controls, and support the successful delivery of major capital projects.
Responsibilities
Local Accounting & Financial Reporting

Maintain the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance in accordance with IFRS, SOCPA, and internal accounting policies in SAP environment.

Manage AP/AR, bank reconciliations, expense claims, vendor payments, fixed assets accounting, and client invoicing.

Support intercompany transactions, recharges

Independently handle annual external audits and prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Ensuring timely submission of audited financial statements.
Project Accounting & Operational Finance:

Manage project financial administration, including project setup, client billing, milestone invoicing, and revenue recognition aligned with project contracts.

Work with project managers and project controls teams to monitor project performance, project profitability, and provide financial insights to support decision‑making.
Tax, Zakat & Regulatory Compliance

Lead compliance with all Saudi tax regulations, including, VAT, withholding tax, ZATCA, transfer pricing requirements, and e-invoicing compliance Prepare and review tax filings, reconciliation and supporting documentation, ensuring timely submission and compliance with ZATCA

Manage responses to tax assessments, audits and regulatory inquiries.

Monitor regulatory changes and implement required updates to processes.
Payroll tax Compliance

Manage GOSI registrations, monthly contributions, and employee status updates.

Support HR with end‑of‑service benefit (EOSB) calculations and employee financial records.

Ensure compliance with platforms such as Mudad, Qiwa, and GOSI.
Compliance, Governance & Internal Controls

Implement and monitor internal controls aligned with group policies and project governance.

Support timely renewals of commercial registration, municipality licenses, Chamber of Commerce membership, and other regulatory requirements.
Cross‑Functional & External Coordination

Collaborate with project managers, procurement, HR, and operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Liaise with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities.

Provide financial insights and reports to local management and the global finance team.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
-
Saudi National.
-
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
-
8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in Saudi Arabia, ideally in engineering, Consulting, construction, or professional services.

Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, Zakat, and local compliance frameworks.

Experience with project accounting, cost tracking, and client billing.

Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems used in project‑based environments (e.g., SAP)

Strong Excel skills and financial analysis capabilities.

Fluency in English; Arabic
Preferred
-
Professional certifications (SOCPA, CPA, CMA, ACCA).

Experience in multinational or multi‑entity engineering or consulting firms.

Familiarity with intercompany recharges, transfer pricing, and group reporting.
