Hatch currently has an excellent opportunity for a Change Management Specialist within our Advisory business unit in Salt Lake City, UT. The Change Management Specialist will play a key role in maximizing client project outcomes by increasing employee adoption, utilization and proficiency while minimizing resistance to the changes that impact them. These changes include modifications to business processes, implementation or improvements of systems and technology, changes to job roles and organizational structure.

The primary responsibility of the role will be to create and implement change management strategies and plans aligned with the Hatch methodology and toolkit and the clients’ needs. The Change Management Specialist will participate as a member of a cross-functional team on both external and internal projects to integrate change management activities into project plans. In addition to project responsibilities, the Change Management Specialist will act as a coach for senior leaders and all levels of managers to guide them in fulfilling the role of a change sponsor.

Accountabilities for this role include:

  • Project Management and Support
    • Apply a structured change management methodology and process to change initiatives and projects utilizing the Hatch methodology, change assessments and change plans.
    • Develop the case for change, design key messages and craft communications materials.
    • Support training efforts by documenting requirements and supporting the design and the delivery of training programs.
    • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics and resistance management plans.
    • Act as change management Subject Matter Expert on ongoing projects and support Hatch project teams to integrate change management into their client transition plans.
  • Business development leadership
    • Support business and practice leaders in ongoing business development efforts.
    • Build client confidence in Hatch’s approach to integrating change management practices into their technical solutions.
  • Build change management capacity
    • Train Hatch practitioners in change management/leadership.
    • Coach Hatch project leaders and engineers on ongoing client projects.
    • Develop a plan to foster change management awareness and competency into the Hatch culture.
  • Support Hatch leadership
    • Provide practical support to Hatch Board and other senior leaders on the role and practice of change management.

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Commerce, Behavioral Sciences, or other related field.

    A Masters Degree in Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology an asset.

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools. Ability to design and execute a variety of change assessments and plans. PROSCI certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience working in change management, org design and program management with experience working within a management consulting capacity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to articulate targeted messages to a variety of audiences and develop effective executive presentations.
  • Proven project management success with strong track record on-time, on-budget and to-specification delivery of projects and experience with sponsor and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization; strong relationship management skills.
  • Experience advising senior leaders on the value of and ways to adopt new ideas/practices.
