Summary


Project Information Coordinator (PIC) / BIM Coordinator are responsible for the design environment in terms of establishing federation and other requirements to meet all stakeholder needs, ensuring setup and testing, monitoring, and compliance to the needs of the project. These PIC activities are vital to ensure that the design environment can deliver data rich information models that meet the needs for federated review and clash avoidance, information exchange, handover, and archiving.


Key Responsibilities


Planning and Setup

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of the post-award Information Management Plan, or Building Information Management (BIM) Execution Plan (BEP) (if mandated by the client), inclusive of the federation strategy for files/models/data, technology setup, configuration, testing, training, and development, with a handover plan.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the post-award Systems Management Plan, including the project systems needs assessment, and the project systems matrix.
  • Contribute to the Information Management risk management strategy and identify & address risks to the engagement’s outcomes resulting from information management processes, digital delivery systems, data, or IT infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain the design environment Information Container Breakdown Structure (ICBS), including all individual information container registers (drawing register, Model Breakdown Structure, document list, data lists).
  • Test the federated model review, clash avoidance, issue resolution, and model delivery methods and obtain acceptance from the stakeholders (E.g.,Client/Operations, delivery teams, construction teams, engineers).
  • Contribute to the establishment of the project master data sources, critical data for data quality reporting, and the data quality reporting program.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of engagement specific onboarding, knowledge, and skills training materials for information management processes and procedures.


Execution and Control

  • Establish and maintain the federated model according to the model breakdown structure, Execution Plan, and project needs.
  • Coach stakeholders and teams to proactively leverage the federated model for review and clash avoidance.
  • Monitor functionality of federated clash avoidance process (clash management and resolution by others).


Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary degree or certificate in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information-centric execution for EPCM and/or Design-Build delivery models.
  • Coordination of teams for information-centric execution.

 

Essential Skills

  • Effective communication skills to facilitate group discussions and foster the level of teamwork and collaboration required for teams to achieve optimum digital delivery performance.
  • Working/Advanced knowledge in at least one of Hatch’s primary Design Tools:
    Bentley Open Suite (OpenRail, OpenPlant, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, OpenBuildings
    Designer, BCRM, etc.), Autodesk Suite (Revit, Infraworks, Civil3D, Inventor).
  • Highly competent with Hatch’s primary BIM/CAD Platforms: ProjectWise Connect Edition, Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Capability to manage, plan, communicate and delegate multiple tasks and activities to ensure delivery expectations are met.
  • Demonstrated competency as team leader who openly shares ideas and enjoys working closely with others to create and drive a collaborative team approach to deliver innovative outcomes.
  • Displays in-depth technical knowledge of digital delivery applications relevant to an area of work and demonstrates application of solutions using technology.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of project execution, including project controls, EPCM processes, contracting, engineering, construction management, and awareness of project information models & data handover concepts as they relate to meeting client requirements.
  • Knowledge of global BIM standards, including: ISO19650 1-5.
  • Good understanding of 4D simulation and advanced work packaging.
  • Good understanding of 5D quantity estimation and trending.
  • Good knowledge of class library and handover specifications such as CIFHOS, ISO15926, CoBIE.
  • Good knowledge of classification systems such as Uniclass, Uniformat, OmniClass.
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively bridge communication between delivery teams and information management support team
