Hatch is currently seeking an Engineering graduate for our Thermal Power Business Unit, located in our Tampa, Florida office. If you have a passion for thermal energy process and energy conversion equipment such as combustion turbines, steam turbines, large reciprocating engines, boilers, pumps and fans, strong communication skills, you are driven to create and engage, have a desire to innovate and grow and you desire engaging great people to solve the world’s toughest problems, we want to hear from you.

In Thermal Power, we offer a dynamic engineering and consulting opportunities with limitless career growth and exposure to a variety of assignments in all aspects of our business. Our team works on cutting edge technology in support of positive change within the thermal power industry. Our engineers design solutions that support the energy transition including thermal power system design, steam plant repowering, new steam system design, thermal plant improvement projects, thermal plant planning studies, new technology review and development, equipment review, event root cause analysis, investment due diligence, and industrial system design in support of other Hatch business units.
We work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-industry environment throughout all phases of the engineering lifecycle from concept to detailed design engineering. Responsibilities:
As a new graduate you will work with our Senior engineering personnel and fellow design engineers to create solutions that create positive change. As your career advances you will engage with our clients directly and take on project responsibility, and you will have opportunities to travel domestically and internationally in support of our clients your aspirations.
Qualifications:
- A recent or soon-to-be graduate with a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University;
- Strong academic and extracurricular record;
- Demonstrated leadership skills;
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Results-oriented attitude;
- The ability to work under pressure;
- Thirst for learning and challenge;
- Interest in Energy and Power Systems

- Perform assignments related to your sector
- Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
- Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
- Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
- Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
