Hatch is currently seeking an Inten for our Thermal Group, located in our Tampa, Florida office. If you have strong communication skills, a positive attitude and understand innovation, we want to hear from you! We always look for the top engineering students. Be prepared to be thrown into problems and to work on things that you've never done before. We are proud to say we are self-starters, motivated by challenge and have a good sense of humor. We are looking for team players to contribute and learn.
The Thermal Business Unit at Hatch works in all aspects of thermal power generation, including a wide range of advanced and state-of-the-art power and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) concepts, including the development of new applications for:
- Fossil fuel conventional thermal power plants
- Simple and combined cycle plants
- Integrated gasification combined cycle plants with chemical polygeneration plants
- Cogeneration and district heating systems
- Fluidized bed applications using coal and petcoke
- Reciprocating engine power plants
- Energy from waste
- Biomass
- Biofuels and biogas
- Process off-gases
- Waste heat recovery
- Geothermal
- Compressed air energy storage
Responsibilities Include:
- Solve challenging problems pertaining to thermal power generating systems and thermal conversion of energy
- Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, with focus on thermal power systems
- Actively participate in the creation of the technical reports and presentations to clients
- Assist the research and development of thermal technologies
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering
- Interest in Energy and Power Systems
- Strong academic record

- Perform assignments related to your sector
- Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
- Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
- Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
- Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
