Summary:

 

Hatch is seeking a Junior Technician/Technologist to join our Highway and Bridges Team starting May 2020. Reporting to Project Engineers you will support offices globally working from our Thunder Bay office.

Responsibilities: 

 

    • Provide support for Engineers and other Technicians / Technologists in the performance of various civil engineering tasks
    • Assist with preparation of preliminary and detailed design for highway and municipal infrastructure projects
    • Undertake drafting work for various projects including roadway geometric design
    • Preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates
    • Construction Inspection as needed
    • Willing to travel and work out of town
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

 

    • Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist diploma from an accredited university / college, or eligible for graduation in Spring 2021
    • Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious
    • Experience with CADD (MicroStation and/or InRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D),
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Project)
    • Past experience with design and/or inspection of Municipal or Highway Construction projects would be an asset
