  • Traffic data collection and analysis;
  • Traffic and transportation operational analysis, design and micro-simulation modelling;
  • Undertaking transit and traffic operational assessments and transit priority assessments;
  • Performing analyses using a variety of tools including transportation modeling packages;
  • Setting up, calibration, and running of transportation models;
  • Compiles and computes a variety of engineering data;
  • Conducts site visits for the purposes of observing and documenting observations;
  • Provide analysis results summary and prepare reports.


  • An engineering or technical degree, with a strong emphasis on transportation or traffic engineering or equivalent work experience;
  • Co-op or Summer Student experience an asset;
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas an asset:
    • Traffic operations
    • Transportation modelling
    • Transit planning and/or operations
    • Safety assessment
    • Functional roadway design
    • Intelligent transportation systems
  • Excellent analytical skills and be familiar with the development and application of multimodal transportation models using a range of software;
  • Practical experience in Synchro/SimTraffic highly desirable together with skills in VISSIM, AIMSUM, EMME or TransCAD;
  • Strong analytical skills are essential;
  • Well-organized and ability to meet client, budget and schedule requirements;
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks;
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with multiple disciplines;
  • High energy, positive team attitude;
  • Results-oriented with proven decision making skills and attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Commitment and capability to take ownership of tasks and end product;
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
