Hatch's is seeking a Municipal Engineer to join our Infrastructure Group in the Vancouver office. As a Utilities/Municipal Engineer you will primarily work in the design team in Infrastructure Sector.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Municipality engineering and design
• Stormwater drainage design using computer aid programs, experience with Civil 3D is a must
• Stormwater management modeling using Computer programs, experience with PCSWMM, XPSWMM, SWMHYMO or other computer models is an asset.
• Pressure network, water and sanitary sewer analysis and design
• Ensuring all civil design drawings for engineering project work comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Report writing and report preparation.
• Ability to coordinate with third party utility companies and participate in client meetings
• Professional communication skills

 

Key required skills, experience and attributes:
 
• Prior experience with municipality engineering and design is essential. 
• Bachelor of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering degree from an accredited university
• EIT, P.Eng or application in process
• Solid drainage and utility design engineering experience with engineering contracting or consulting organisations
• Understanding of local standards; as well as statutory and regulatory requirements
• Experience working in a client facing capacity with integrity, honesty and customer service orientation
• Proficient in CADD programs, especially Civil 3D
• Knowledge of software packages: XPSWMM, SWMHYMO and HEC-RAS advantageous
