We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Bridge Manager to join our Vancouver, BC office. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and project management for a range of high-profile transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on bridges, overpasses, and related structures. You will work within a growing team environment delivering feasibility studies, condition assessments, design, project management, and construction support services.


Key Responsibilities

 

-Lead and manage bridge and structural engineering projects from planning through construction.
-Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams.
-Serve as Project Manager and/or Engineer of Record for bridge projects.
-Lead the design and rehabilitation of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, and other transportation structures.
-Review and approve engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents.
-Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and resource requirements.
-Prepare and review construction cost estimates and support project budgeting.
-Provide construction support services, including review of shop drawings, RFIs, and site inspections.
-Ensure compliance with CHBDC, BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit standards, municipal requirements, and other applicable codes and regulations.
-Support business development activities, including client engagement, proposal preparation, interviews, and strategic pursuits.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
-Contribute to the growth and success of the Bridges and Structures practice.
-Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive team environment while supporting staff development and succession planning.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
-Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
-Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge engineering, structural design, and project management within a consulting environment.
-Demonstrated experience in the planning, design, and rehabilitation of concrete and steel bridge structures.
-Strong knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), CSA standards, and transportation agency requirements.
-Experience delivering projects for BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit, municipalities, transportation authorities, or other public-sector clients.
-Experience with multiple delivery models, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, and Alliance.
-Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
-Strong technical expertise in bridge design, structural analysis, construction methods, and rehabilitation strategies.
-Demonstrated business development experience, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.
-Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Demonstrated commitment to mentoring staff, quality, safety, and teamwork.
