Our global infrastructure expertise spans ports, rail and transit, aviation, highways and bridges, as well as planning, advisory, tunnels, and water. Building on a strong track record in coastal engineering, we are looking to further grow this capability by welcoming a driven and forward-thinking Senior Coastal Engineer to our Ports and Terminals team, based in Santiago, Chile.

 

You will join a dynamic and expanding team working across a diverse coastal project portfolio, including coastal structure design, metocean assessment and numerical modelling, port and marine infrastructure inputs, dredging, climate adaptation planning, and coastal management.

 

We are seeking a passionate coastal specialist who is eager to take ownership, contribute to technically challenging projects, and play a key role in shaping and expanding our coastal offering in the region. You bring to the role: 

 

  • Relevant qualifications e.g. a master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or similar
  • A commitment to professional development and remaining up to date with the latest advancements and guidance in coastal engineering and science
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the planning and design of coastal infrastructure, with 15+ years preferable
  • Professional Registration with the relevant engineering council within your country
  • Intricate knowledge of coastal processes modelling (using Delft3D and/or Mike) and oversight of modelling work. Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards in the marine and coastal environment
  • Experience in management of data acquisition campaigns, including hydrographic, metocean, meteorological data sets.
  • Data analysis and manipulation skills for relevant data sets within the Ports and Coastal field.
  • Leading coastal design packages within inter-disciplinary project teams
  • Business development and networking skills
  • Project management capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Spanish and English)
  • Willingness to collaborate and work within a team environment
  • Project team leadership and resource management skills
  • Technical reviews and verification of others’ designs

  • Physical modelling experience
  • Experience in dredging design
  • Experience in coastal adaptation planning and design

  • Track record in project delivery of complex coastal projects
