We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 4-10 years of experience to join our growing structural team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of industrial, mining, energy and infrastructure projects across Australia. Working closely with senior engineers and project leaders, you will be involved in the technical design and delivery of structural steel, reinforced concrete and civil structures from concept through to detailed design. You will apply advanced engineering principles, undertake structural analysis, develop practical design solutions, and contribute to multidisciplinary projects in complex operating environments. Experience in mining and industrial projects is highly regarded but not essential. We are primarily seeking engineers with strong technical structural design capabilities, a passion for engineering excellence, and a desire to continue developing their technical expertise.
As a Structural Engineer, you will:
- Deliver structural engineering designs for projects ranging from feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction support.
- Undertake structural analysis and design of:
- Structural steel buildings and industrial structures
- Conveyors, transfer towers and pipe racks
- Equipment support structures
- Reinforced concrete foundations and slabs
- Access platforms, walkways and secondary steelwork
- Develop structural models using analysis software such as SpaceGass, Strand7, or similar.
- Prepare engineering calculations, design reports, technical specifications and scopes of work.
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments and structural investigations.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews and safety-in-design workshops.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical and process engineers to develop integrated design solutions.
- Review drawings and models prepared by designers and draftspersons to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in estimating engineering effort and developing project schedules.
- Support junior engineers through technical guidance and mentoring.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications and company procedures.
About you
You will hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and bring 4-10 years of structural engineering experience within consulting, engineering, or industrial environments. You will have strong technical knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design, experience using engineering software to complete structural analysis and design, and a sound understanding of Australian Standards including AS 4100, AS 3600, and AS 1170. Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, together with experience preparing engineering calculations, reports, and design documentation, are essential. Experience within mining, minerals processing, industrial, ports, energy, or other heavy industry sectors will be highly regarded. Exposure to brownfield projects, site investigations, finite element analysis, and software such as SpaceGass, Strand7, or StaadPro is desirable. Chartered status (or progress towards registration) and an understanding of Safety in Design and risk management principles would also be advantageous.
